Bad Case of the Mondays
I need to move. I feel my best when I am out and about moving around and feeling like I am actually doing something productive. I want to feel tired at the end of the day from working hard. I want to be famished at meal time and pass out as soon as my head hits the pillow. It's moments like that I feel alive. I could barely drag myself in today. It's just another day doing useless busy work. I'll probably always be stuck working in an office.
I'm not a person motivated by a career -- as much as my great aunt would wish me to be. Employment is not my life. It is a means to an end. I don't need to be a huge CEO working 90 hours a week just to prove to people I can do it. Life takes place outside the office. Simple as that. Unless I owned a llama farm...that would be different.

Growing Up
Oh no! I've turned into my Dad.
Maybe it's the cooler weather or maybe it's deeper than that.
But I just realized I turned into my dad. I guess I am truly a Daddy's Girl.
Growing up I have a wide array of memories listening to (or more like being forced to since the parents controlled the radio) A Prairie Home Companion as supper was being made and eaten. Ok, there was a lot of MPR going on in the house. (Minnesota Public Radio). I used to find it sooo boring.
But as I see myself right now...I am a little scared. I baked bread this afternoon (a father's favorite pastime) listening to nothing other than...A Prairie Home Companion. Now I am sipping a glass of red wine and listening to another MPR show...American Roots. Today's musical theme: Jazz from New Orleans. I have to say it is very nice and I am enjoying myself....
However, I might not be so disturbed if I hadn't had some other thoughts while driving eariler today...such thoughts as, it sure would be nice to have a couple's night. (However, I am not part of a couple and therefore this thought doesn't even apply to me).
Then later I think...I could settle down. Oh, where do these thoughts come from? I think I am getting old. Not to say I am ready to start waving the kids off to school...but I'm getting there.
The bread is good.
