Suddenly Inspired

After lunch I partook in one of my random poking around breaks. This is a daily effort to avoid returning to actual necessary office tasks. This past week on Facebook I had been noticing a friend’s blog competition with her husband to see who can get the most followers. So I decided to check out her posts and followed her link.

While on her site I noticed that in her list of favorite blogs was one entitled, ‘Suddenly Mommy’.
This intrigued me, could it be a blog related to my life? Is someone out there writing about her challenges? So I clicked on it. Yes, yes it was a blog that related to my life. She starting dating her husband when his son was 1.5 years old (me too!), they dated a year and a half and got married (me too!), craziness. We are not quite married yet, nor am I pregnant, but we are very similar nonetheless.

So I decided I might just end up stalking this complete stranger and see how life treats her, how she deals with things and what I can learn. Or maybe, I’ll be obsessed a few days and forget about it, most likely. I’ve thought about doing a blog myself, privately for my own review or maybe share it with a few people. I thought about discussing the trials of what it’s like to suddenly become a mom. There are unique challenges, joys and emotions that come with it. Most people don’t understand you unless they have been there. Maybe my record can bring light to others about this life change than our parent’s didn’t face and most of our friends wouldn’t consider.

I might have just been inspired to start another small project I won’t keep up with or finish…but in the meantime it’s an effort to waste time that I think is fabulous. So for all the suddenly mommy’s wanting to waste a few minutes here and there, I present the blog (or the return to blogging) of a complete stranger (or not as the case will probably be) that lives somewhere in Minnesota.

The Future Belongs to the Lord

Llamas, Deep-Fried Guinea Pig, and Indigenous Spectator Sports. Those words are scattered around my coffee mug along with pictures from South America. Photographs of tropical rainforests, ancient ruins and beautiful children remind me of my adventures in Latin America and the excitement that went along with them. I'm ready for adventure, I'm ready to get up and move, I'm ready for whatever life holds in store (As long as its good of course, which I guess doesn't offer too much flexibility if I limit myself to happy things, but whatever, its my life!).

I was talking to a friend last night and we discussed how when God finally says,"Okay now you may have ____," we wonder why we were so worried to begin with. The unknown aspects of the future are full of mystery. That mystery both annoys us to death and fills us with eager anticipation.

But I have to remind myself that my life "Consists in being drawn, at God’s pace and in God’s way, to the place where God wants [me] to be."-Evelyn Underhill That is often difficult for me. It is something I struggle with daily so please continue to remind me "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." -Matthew 6:34
