Today I have been thinking about elementary school. It is the first day back for many kids in Minnesota, which meant many parents were posting about this on Facebook. The only thing is, those parents used to be the kids I went to elementary school with. What a strange turn of events. I can still picture some of them as the kids I went to school with. Not as the adults they are now. Very few of them are sending children off to first grade, but many more are pregnant and well on their way to being those moms and dads.
It made me a little nostalgic for J.F.K, which we lovingly named Jail for Kids. I can still picture the locker lined hallways, the cafeteria line, the gym, music and art rooms. I can still picture my former teachers and standing in line to drink from the water fountain and even the foot peddled sinks in the bathrooms. I remember recess and laughing with friends and staring longingly out the window into the sunny afternoon. Then the mad rush to the bus at the end of the day. Even as I think about it more memories come flooding back into my mind.
Yes, I think elementary school was the best. That is followed by my four years at Augie. Everything else was just something I had to get through. Today I’ve been wishing I was dropping a child off at elementary school. What a fun and exciting time for them. I look forward to those years with my children.

Blogging Past
I started blogging in 2006 alongside many of my other seminary friends. I kept with it sporadically for a few years and then dropped off the face of the blogging world all together in 2009. I hid my site, blocked anyone from seeing it and unpublished all my posts.
Sometimes I wish I had kept up with it then. That was the year I re-met my fiancĂ© and we started to date. Too bad I don’t have a written record of that crazy year! Oh well, it is fun to go back into my archives and read about things that happened 4 years ago. Some archived posts I decided not to re-publish…we don’t need to relive everything. So if you are ever bored -- my random thoughts are there for your reading pleasure.

Inspired!
For the past few years I've been trying to find that place where I belong. We graduate from high school, move out of the house, and are sent out into this crazy world where it seems as though the church forgets about us 20 something people. We are no longer kids and we have no kids. We don't belong. Well, finally these thoughts merged together last night and I think I may have a new direction for my thesis! Sweetness...
